History | Born in the jungle of a filthy, undeveloped city, little John was alone in the world. Abandoned by his parents at a very young age, he learned to live on the streets and thrived there. The dark streets and filthy people were home to him and the small Vulpix was always in a group. The youth never stayed in spot for long, tending to stay in groups of other homeless Pokemon and humans alike just for as long as needed. By the time he reached adolesance, John was a scruffy and bold child. Already having scars from pranks and ideas gone wrong, he was a gifted pick pocket and trickster, using his skills for objects that captured his attention just as often as for food. But as he matured slowly into his teen years, John's mind began to go to bigger and darker schemes. The normally harmless steals became grander, even taking his first life at the age of sixteen when a knife was pulled from the man he was robbing. It was in these early years of trial and error that not everything went as planned, three of his tails gone by the age of twenty, leaving the little Vulpix with only half left. Adoring his misleading innocent appearance, John was already at a considerably high level with his daily training and fights to get out of trouble. It was during his young adult years that he took a few select partners to accomplish large deals, often teaming up and then splitting up with no care for the others' well being. All con men were like that and the Vulpix prided his stone cold heart and greedy attitude. With no one to hold him back, the whole world was at his feet. During a few weeks, he took a partner in a passing Persian, the larger male 's attitude blending together with the fox's. Together, they feigned disabilities -John faking a lame back while the feline blindness- together many took pity on the pair of seemingly helpless Pokemon and they ranked in more food than they could eat each day. The pair took turns pick pocketing and purse snatching as well. Life was good with a pile of shiny treasures growing for them both. But the deal was abruptly ruined when John was caught red handed trying to steal from the Persian's own hoard, despite them splitting the coins equally. Knowing that the Vulpix would feel no shame from his actions, the much larger and stronger feline mercifully ripped off two of the fire type's tails, the third not tearing correctly and leaving a fuzzy stump. John did not honestly care about his physical state but merely watched the cat make his abrupt leave that day. The Vulpix was now covered in many scars and try only grew as more years passed, stepping on anyone in his way to gain more and more. John's greed was never ending as he matured and trained himself to be stronger and stronger, often making dangerous deals with powerful and shadey chracters to gain experiance and become stronger. When one deal went particularly bad, Honest John, as he called himself, returned with less than pleasing news for his current employer. Furious, the Pokemon warned the Vulpix that he would not accept failure lightly. As revenge, a red stone was suddenly thrust upon the Vulpix. Alarmed, he could not scramble back in time and his adorable ruse was forever ruined as the newly evolved Ninetales stared down at himself in shock. The single stump of a tail he had been left with had in fact multiplied, but only to result in a single other tail to accompany it. Betrayed and furious, John fled the employer before he could do anything worse. As a result, the tacticks that used to work for him no longer gained any attention, making the Ninetales desperate as his ribs shown. Taking a dangerous gambit with the known local Liepard mob boss of sorts, he was hired to exterminate a nusiance that had shown up in the form of a rouge Ursaring. Discovering that the Liepard had hired another pair of claws to assist in the job, John was suprised to recognize the Persian from years before. The feline looked ragged, like he had aged a lifetime in a couple of years, and John merely smirked at the oviously broken cat. Together they went off to the lair of the beast, only to find the Ursaring not home. Waiting for him to return, the pair hid outside the cave in a cluster of bushes. But when something shiny captured the Ninetales' eye, he was fearlessly venturing into the ominous cave, ignoring the hissed warning of the Persian. Finding an enourmous stash of gold, John's greed knew no bounds as he immediately began to plot a way to take the loot when the job was over. Not hearing the yelled warning from within his own mind, John found himself face to face with a wrathful Ursaring as the massive bear roared his fury and attacked. The Ninetales and Persian immediately sprung into action, the duo working together to try and overpower the beast. But they were amazingly outmatched and in one move, they were both losing the fight. Smacking aside Honest John, the Ninetales hit the ground harshly just as the Ursaring turned to the springing feline. Pinning him to the ground, the bear slashed mercilessly at the cat's face as he yowled in pain. Seeing an opportunity, John lunged but the foe kicked him away, hitting his lower back with such force that he screamed in pain. Collecting themselves and fleeing as fast as able to, the Ursaring let them live in their pitiful state. The Persian was screaming that he could not see, the blood pouring down his face and his eyes damaged beyond repain, but John had his own troubles. His back legs would barely respond and any movement with his spine caused wretching agony. The two injured beyond repair, they made a breif agreement to help eachother heal and to escape the sure punishment that would be given by the Liepard once he found out. Over a few weeks, they used their strengths to help eachother and the damage became apparent- the Persian was completely fine and healed well, but his eyes were perminantly scarred and he could not see, while John could only assume he had a spinal injury, as his hind legs would not respond as swiftly and pain would come with any movement while he could not even run. Traveling side by side, slowly but surely, the pain kept eachother alive. Life was bearable until the Epidemic. The undead came in swarms and the pair had to work even harder through their disabilities to survive, John only able to use special attacks while the Persian followed his senses to claw and fight anything he touched. The system worked fairly well and, despite their growing distaste for eachother, they continued on, both equally determined to survive the hell. |
Appearance | - Tall and thin, fluffy - Seven tails completely ripped off and gone • only one full tail left, large furless gash on the top • one tail's base still there, just fur and bone • many scars adorn base of tails - Notch in right ear - Fur on neck and throat more like a short mohawk - Several old scares on back and left side - Brilliant green eyes, otherwise normal coloration - Stands tall and proud despite ugly appearance, a confident sleazy grin on his face and a too bright glint to his eyes |
Personality | Pros: Intelligent, cunning, strong fire attacks, charismatic Cons: Sleazy, smug, sexist, greedy, wrathful, physically weak, oblivious Other: Smooth liar, aloof |
User Notes | -- Due to the injury from the double crossing of the Ursaring that went wrong, his lower spine is perminantly lame and he has a thick limp that will never heal without extensive surgery, and that will never happen. He cannot run well nor can he stand or sit swiftly. - Cannot use Quick Attack anymore and finds it a cruel joke at this point. |

History | Gideon was born to a good family in one of the very few safe neighborhoods in a bad city. His humans were very rich and had a lot of money, always going out of their way to spoil their Pokemon. Gideon was the only boy in a litter of three to a beautiful Persian mother. He never knew his father and, when questioned about it, his mother merely said that it was for the best. The little kitten never argued and learned to have fun with his two sisters. At the age of eight, Gideon had his first tragedy. His mother had fallen ill, as well as his largest sister. In an effort to keep the healthy Meowth from the creeping disease, Gideon and his runt sister were kept in a acomplete other part of the house. There was a bed, food and water, and toys, but the siblings were locked away from everyone and it frightened the kittens. At the same time, the home was losing it's money. The humans were going bankrupt with their massive spending, and Gideon heard talk of being rid of their beloved cats to save money. Frightened, Gideon broke the screen of the window in their room and jumped out into the real world for the first time in his life. Promising to return to his little sister, the Meowth ran. No clue what he was looking for, Gideon just knew he was desperate and had to find it soon. For hours he searched, asking anyone and everyone if they could help his Ma, but no one cared. When returning late that night, he heard the devestating news that his mother had lost the fight. The Persian and his sister had died while he was away. Devestated, Gideon cried out loudly and sobbed as only a broken child could. But the nightmare only got worse. Of the two Meowth kittens left, the family decided to keep one and disown the other to save money. Because girls were always prized over boys, Gideon was the one booted to the street. His sister never even gave him a second glance as he begged to be let back in. When it started to rain, the kit finally gave up and wondered off looking for shelter. In the course of a few weeks, the pampered Meowth lost all of his innosence on those streets. He saw horrors and crimes and cruelty and sarror, as well as no one that cared. Hardening rather rapidly, Gideon made a vow to suvive. Hunting small mice Pokemon, the child didn't starve, but he did capture the attention of a passing Liepard. The great cat had a creepy gleam to his pirite gold eyes, and he offered shelter to the Meowth in exchange for some services. Finding himself in a group full of young Pokemon, Gideon was safe under the protection of the Liepard. The dark feline told them that he would provide all the food they would need, but each one of them had to bring in something for return. Not given any specifics, the youth all rushed off to find what they beleived the Liepard wished for. But Gideon was no fool. He knew not just some shiny trncket would win him over, so the Meowth thought of his golden eyes. A few hours later, he returned with a gold coin in his teeth. Watching as each child was turned away, for bringing a stuffed toy or a scrap of paper, Gideon was confident he would have the prize. And as the Liepard's greedy gaze lit up upon seeing him, the Meowth was right. The only one who solved the larger feline's puzzle, Gideon was smug as he was taken under his wing. And his word had been true, as the Liepard dropped the body of a slain Podgeotto before before him. Tearing into the meal, the Meowth felt the dark joy of his new life spread within him. It soon became a routine for the pair. For years, Gideon was taight the method of the steal, how to use a ruse, and how to fight back if caught. By the time he neared adulthood, the small Meowth had evolved into a handsome Persian. The dark leopard was very pleased, eventually leaving Gideon completely on his own for days on end as the Persian was more than capable of fending for himself. Pleased with his life, it was in this time that he took partners for particular ruses. In one he met an amazing greedy and smug Vulpix. The pair had worked together just fine for days, until Gideon saw the little theif trying to steal from him. Furious, he attacked the older fox, and left him with no tails as he stormed off with his loot. Angry and aggitated, with the world, he never took a partned again. But then it was years later thay he met her. Astrid, a Liepard of the streets, just like him. The two became friends almost immediately, and admitted their love in a few more weeks. Smitten with her, Gideon did all he could to spoil Astrid. As time passed, they became inseperable. Always with eachother, side by side, she was the light in the Persian's life. But things never did end well for the Persian, as just when a child was born, Astrid told him that it was all a lie. A ruse to gain a child and nothing more. Leaving him heart broken and taking their Purrloin child with her, Gideon was alone once again. He had not seen the Liepard that raised him in many years by that point, and Gideon figured that he had nothing to loose. Physically ragged and emotionally drained, he looked up what had happened to the golden eyed cat. Finding him was more difficult than assumed, but it paid off. The Liepard took him in without question, only asking for tasks in return. Agreeing, Gideon was in the master's light once again. The first job he was told to do was take care of a rouge Ursaring that was disrupting the Liepard's reign. He explained that he had recently slaughtered a Liepard and a Purrloin pair, and the Persian felt something rupture within him. He still loved Astrid, despite her bettayl, and he was crushed by the unknowing news his care taked had passed on. The Liepard also said he would be working with someone and was not pleased to recognize the arrogant grin of the evolved form of that Vulpix from years past. But not complaining, the pair went on their mission. Waiting for the Ursaring to show up, Gideon was shocked to see the fox strolling right into the den in search of gold. When the bear returned, they were in for the fight of their lives. Using all of his power to fell the foe that had killed his love, Gideon was overpowered at an amazingly easy rate, and earned claws across his face and eyes in retaliation. Fleeing with the Ninetales, he learned that the fox had been ijured as well, but hardly cared. Even after all of the blood was cleaned away, he still could not see. Devestated and blinded, Gideon only half agreed with the suggestion from the fox that they stay together to survive. He pointed out that the Liepard would not be pleased and would punish them both, but that idea shocked him. The cat had never failed. He had never had to deal with the consequences. So they stayed together anyway and worked as a team. As the Epidemic started up, they continued to beat the odds and survive. Gideon still is getting used to his disability. |
